What drives the annual AMC quotation?
A dependable AMC quote starts with machine model, daily kg load, present condition and travel access. Equipment used with wet, abrasive or contaminated feedstock generally has different wear and service patterns from clean segregated kitchen waste. Annual price must reflect the actual scope.
- Machine make, age, capacity and serial/model identifier.
- Site location, access arrangements and monthly operating days.
- Current issues: gearbox sound, blade condition, heater, sensors and electrical protection.
- Expected preventive visit schedule and emergency response requirements.
Comprehensive vs non-comprehensive AMC
The labels differ by vendor. Make every inclusion explicit.
| Contract item | Comprehensive AMC | Non-comprehensive AMC |
|---|---|---|
| Preventive labour | Usually included; specify visits | Usually included; specify visits |
| Breakdown labour | Check number and conditions | Check emergency callout charges |
| Wear parts / blades | Only if explicitly listed | Usually separately chargeable |
| Heaters / controls | Model-specific written inclusion | Usually separately chargeable |
| Transport and travel | Define geographic limits | Often separately charged |
| Consumables / segregation | Common exclusions | Common exclusions |
What a professional contract should define
An AMC should list asset identity, contract term, preventive schedule, logged visit reports, emergency contact, response-target wording, parts approval process, taxes, payment terms and exclusions. Service response is not the same thing as guaranteed on-site repair time.
- Separate workmanship warranty from existing wear and consumables.
- Record pre-existing defects at contract start.
- Define operator misuse, non-segregated waste and power faults.
- Specify replacement part approval before charging.
- Include operator training and basic housekeeping checks if contracted.
Illustrative annual cost structure—not a market quotation
A planning spreadsheet can group costs as preventive technician visits + expected labour for faults + agreed spare allowance + travel + administration + applicable taxes. Do not use a single percentage of new-machine price for every 50–1000 kg/day machine; installed parts and geography differ.
For an actual quotation, ask for a site inspection or recent video and machine photographs.
Before renewal: quick machine health checklist
Inspect abnormal vibration, blade damage, loose terminals, earthing continuity, drive lubrication as specified, panel moisture, heater faults and discharge quality. Electrical and mechanical intervention must be performed by qualified technicians. See routine OWC maintenance checklist and odour troubleshooting.
When the question becomes model-specific
