Capacity is only the first price driver
A larger rated load needs a larger processing system, but two machines with the same nominal kg/day can still be materially different. This is why a one-line “100 kg machine” quote is not enough to compare vendors.

Construction changes the number
Ask what material actually contacts wet waste, not simply whether the outer body is described as stainless steel. Grade, thickness, fabrication detail and the extent of stainless construction can move cost and service expectations.
Controls and electrical package matter
Automation can range from basic timing/control to more extensive monitoring. Compare the drive, heater load, control panel, protections and published connected load rather than assuming every “automatic” machine contains the same hardware.
Site scope can sit outside the machine price
Freight, foundations, power infrastructure, drainage, access work or large-project civil scope may depend on the location. A useful quotation separates factory package from site-specific scope so the buyer can see what is and is not included.
Use a like-for-like quotation checklist
Before negotiating price, align the technical scope. Confirm that the quotations cover the same capacity, material, automation, installation, commissioning, warranty and after-sales scope. Once the specification is comparable, the commercial comparison becomes much clearer.
A cheaper quotation can simply be a smaller scope
A lower equipment figure may reflect a smaller scope rather than a lower total project cost. Mark every item as included, excluded or site-supplied. Freight, unloading, electrical feed, civil platform, drainage, commissioning, operator training, warranty coverage and preventive service can all change the final installed cost.
- Compare exact waste-contact grade and thickness.
- Check drive, heater and control-panel scope.
- Separate freight and site work from machine supply.
- Compare warranty wording and service responsibility.
Price comparison becomes meaningful only after scope comparison.
When the question becomes model-specific
This guide stays general. For exact figures on a particular machine, these published pages from the COMPOSTO range are the reference.
